Planning a trip to Singapore
Singapore is compact, multilingual and well connected by public transport. Neighborhood-based planning makes it easy to combine food, architecture, parks and museums in the same day.
Transport and payment
Use rail and buses for most journeys, with regulated taxi and ride-hailing options for late hours or luggage. Contactless payment is widespread, but keep a backup method.
Food and weather
Hawker centres are essential to the city’s food culture. Expect heat and sudden rain: carry water, sun protection and a compact umbrella.
Destinations to consider
Use the city guides for Singapore, Marina Bay, Chinatown, Little India, Kampong Glam, Sentosa, Joo Chiat, Tiong Bahru, Orchard Road, Jurong as route-building starting points. These are not a required checklist: choose places that fit the season, transport network and time available.
