Bangkok transport: when rail, boat and taxi each worked best

A trip report on choosing transport by corridor, weather, luggage and time of day.

No single transport mode solved every Bangkok journey. Rail was reliable along its corridors, boats turned some riverside trips into highlights, and a metered taxi or ride-hailing car was useful with luggage. The biggest improvement came from checking the pickup point before ordering and keeping the Thai address available offline. During heavy traffic, a short walk to rail was often faster than waiting in a car.
